However, it is not easy to achieve high-quality thin aluminum plate microporous group processing. Although the traditional machining method has mature technology, it has more or less low processing efficiency, non-smooth holes, relatively large taper, and post-grinding processes, which cannot meet the current high-precision requirements.

 

With the advantages of non-direct contact, high efficiency, energy saving, and easy system integration, laser processing has become one of the indispensable and widely used processing methods in the processing of small holes and micro holes in aluminum materials. The drilling principle is that in a very short time, the laser with high energy density interacts with the aluminum material, and the energy is absorbed by the aluminum material and converted into heat energy. When the laser power density reaches the order of 106W/cm2-107W/cm2, the aluminum The surface of the material absorbs laser energy so that the temperature rises sharply to the vaporization temperature and strongly vaporizes, and plasma is generated at the same time. Under the action of vaporization expansion and plasma pressure, the molten material in the hole evaporates and sprays outward, thereby forming small pits in the substrate. As the laser irradiation makes the pit larger and deeper, it eventually penetrates the thin aluminum material to become a perforation.

 

Since aluminum has the characteristics of high reflectivity and good thermal conductivity, and aluminum has a very low absorption rate of laser light near the wavelength of 10um, green laser can be used for aluminum processing. At the same time, the pulse width is a crucial factor that must be considered in the field of laser micromachining. In a nutshell: the narrower the pulse width, the lower the damage threshold to the aluminum material, the smaller the hole taper, the better the roundness, the less molten material in the orifice and the hole wall, and the less sputtering particles around the orifice.
