Wood inlay on the other hand, usually involves different woods laid on a flat surface in such a way that a smooth surface is created, which contains different colours and inlays. The base material is engraved first next is the material to be laid, which is usually veneer. For veneer, ensure that the width of the laser beam is adjusted.

Hardwood results in dark engravings, softwood results in lighter engraving. The drier and more resin fress, the brighter the engraving of a wood laser engraving machine.
