Application of uv laser cold marking source on transparent glass

Glass cups, glass coffee tables, glass decorations, glass tableware, etc. in life. Our life is closely related to them. With the continuous development of technology, all kinds of glass decorate our colorful living world. Engraving, printing, laser patterns and patterns on glass have become a very common technology. Continuous technological innovation has given us a new understanding of products. The following introduces the technical application of laser marking machines on transparent glass.

There are also several process methods for laser marking on glass. The process methods are as follows:

The first method is that the laser marking machine uses a single laser radiation to produce a sharp and visible mark on the glass, but the direction of the crack and stress pattern will be extended perpendicular to the direction of the laser travel. In a short time or even a few days after the mark is printed, these cracks perpendicular to the direction of the laser movement will form new cracks, which will expand to the vicinity of the original mark and form fragments, thus affecting the clarity of the mark. Using multiple laser irradiations, the areas adjacent to the marked area are heated by thermal conduction, thereby forming a stress gradient in these areas and reducing the possibility of secondary cracking. Marking on soda lime and borosilicate glass is very effective with this method. One laser radiation is effective for marking on fused silica glass and quartz glass, because these two materials have low coefficients of expansion.

The second method uses a series of annular cracks to form text, barcodes, square or rectangular codes, and other shape code patterns. Glass develops low-density annular cracks through heating and cooling cycles. When the glass is heated, it expands and squeezes the surrounding material. When the temperature rises to the softening point of the glass, the glass rapidly expands to form a dome of low-density material that protrudes from the glass surface.

The third method is that the laser marking machine uses the same heating and cooling process to change the surface of a certain volume of glass. However, the size of the spot used in the third method is relatively large, and the boundary line at the junction of the two density regions is not as clear as the annular crack method. The marks produced by this method are not immediately visible, requiring a little pressure before grid cracks begin to develop along the laser marked area. Text, graphics and various codes are formed by filling the pattern with the resulting non-fragmented, crack-like stripes. Because this method requires a pristine surface, high-quality automotive glass can be used to print clear markings.

Glass products are widely used in construction, daily use, medical, chemical, household, electronics, instrumentation, nuclear engineering and other fields. Glass is fragile, so engraving on the surface of glass products requires high craftsmanship. With years of experience in laser research and development, Wuhan Ruifeng Optoelectronics Laser Equipment has mature product technology and safe and stable product performance. RFH Electro-Laser always adheres to the attitude of "quality first, service second, price third", and provides customers with the best quality products and services.
